How To Extract Insights From Calls

Insight7 allows you to extract valuable insights from your calls in multiple formats – from identifying key themes to creating visual journey maps. This guide shows you how to access and use these insight extraction features.

Accessing Insight Extraction #

Step 1: Navigate to Extract Insights #

  1. Login to your Insight7 account at https://.insight7.io
  2. Go to Analyze in the main navigation
  3. Select Extract Insights

Step 2: Choose Your Insight Type #

You’ll see four insight extraction options. Choose based on what you want to accomplish:

Available Insight Types #

Themes #

What it does: Uncover key patterns and recurring ideas from conversations

Best for:

  • Identifying common customer pain points
  • Discovering trending topics across calls
  • Understanding what matters most to customers
  • Finding patterns in feedback

Use this when you want to:

  • Get a high-level overview of conversation topics
  • Identify what customers talk about most frequently
  • Spot emerging issues or opportunities
  • Analyze call trends across your team or time periodQuotes

What it does: Extract quotes about specific topics from all your files

Best for:

  • Finding evidence to support decisions
  • Gathering customer testimonials
  • Collecting feedback on specific features or products
  • Pulling compliance-related statements

Use this when you want to:

  • Find specific customer feedback on a topic
  • Gather quotes for reports or presentations
  • Identify exact language customers use
  • Support recommendations with real customer voices

Highlight Reels #

What it does: Create a reel of relevant quotes from your video/audio files

Best for:

  • Creating training materials
  • Sharing key moments with stakeholders
  • Building coaching examples
  • Showcasing customer success stories

Use this when you want to:

  • Compile the best or most relevant call moments
  • Create video/audio clips for presentations
  • Build a library of coaching scenarios
  • Share powerful customer feedback visually

Journey Map #

What it does: Visualize journeys to uncover growth opportunities

Best for:

  • Understanding the customer experience flow
  • Identifying friction points in the journey
  • Mapping touchpoints and interactions
  • Finding opportunities for improvement

Use this when you want to:

  • See the full customer experience path
  • Identify where customers struggle or succeed
  • Optimize specific journey stages
  • Visualize the end-to-end experience

How to Extract Your Insights #

Step 3: Select Your Insight Type #

  1. Click on the insight type that matches your goal
  2. The system will prepare the extraction interface

Step 4: Configure Your Analysis #

Depending on the insight type, you may need to:

  • Select which calls or projects to analyze
  • Define specific topics or keywords to focus on
  • Set time ranges or filters
  • Choose output formats

Step 5: Run the Analysis #

  1. Review your selections
  2. Click Analyze to extract insights
  3. Wait for processing to complete
  4. View your results

Viewing and Using Your Insights #

Once analysis is complete, you can:

Review Results

  • Browse through extracted themes, quotes, or journey maps
  • Filter and sort by relevance or frequency
  • Drill down into specific insights for more detail

Export and Share

  • Download insights for reports
  • Share with team members or stakeholders
  • Integrate findings into your workflow

Take Action

  • Use insights to inform product decisions
  • Create coaching materials from highlight reels
  • Prioritize improvements based on journey map findings
  • Share customer quotes with marketing or sales teams

Choosing the Right Insight Type #

Not sure which to use? Ask yourself:

“What do I need to know?”

  • Overall patterns → Themes
  • Specific feedback → Quotes
  • Visual examples → Highlight Reels
  • Experience flow → Journey Map

“What will I do with the insights?”

  • Report to leadership → Themes or Journey Map
  • Coach my team → Highlight Reels or Quotes
  • Improve processes → Journey Map or Themes
